The Madeline Pants are an easy, beginner-friendly straight-leg trouser. Featuring a high-rise elastic waistband, anchored inseam pockets, a straight leg, and a wide hem, the Madeline Pants combine the ease of lounge pants with the look of tailored trousers.

Tips:
- Cotton poplin, quilting cotton, and linen are especially beginner-friendly due to their stability.
- Heavier fabrics create a more tailored trouser silhouette.
- Lightweight fabrics create a softer, more relaxed drape.
- Pocket bags must be made from lightweight woven fabric such as cotton lawn or voile to reduce bulk.
- While designed for wovens, the pattern can be adapted for light weight knits with stable recovery.

Great basic pants pattern! Love the way the pockets are anchored into the waistband - means my phone doesn't weigh down the side seams!

I love this pattern! I have already made it three times (once as shorts and twice as pants). I had a question and the seller was quick to respond! I did end up shortening the pants and making the rise lower :)
