Digital Files and Printing

If you order your pattern from this website, you will gain access to a download button immediately after purchase on the checkout page. You will also be sent a confirmation email that includes a download button. If you ever need to access past purchases, simply login to your account with your email (no password required, a one time code will be emailed to you), and you will be able to download any pattern purchased on the website.

All of our patterns come with multiple printing options. Click here for a video explaining everything you need to know about our PDF patterns.

Print at Home:

If you are printing from home in the USA, you will likely use US letter. Most other countries will use A4. Click here to learn how to assemble a print-at-home file.

Copy Shop:

If you would like to skip cutting and gluing your paper together you can send your pattern to be printed at a local or online copy shop. Some online shops I can recommend are PDF Plotting and Brooklyn Motif. Use the code: MADSWICK10 for 10% off printing with Brooklyn Motif.

Yes, most of our patterns have a projector file. This allows you to skip printing your pattern and directly project it on your fabric. If you are new to projector sewing I would recommend checking out this facebook group for more information. There is even a great free website/app to help you calibrate your projector, thicken the lines of A0 files, and other great features.

Tools and Materials

There are so many incredible places to find fabric. Below I am putting my top 10, as well as a blog post that includes information about many small shops around the world.

Sewing

We are proud to have an inclusive size range (up to 62”(156cm) hip). You can see the Madswick size chart and a video that walks you through it on our sizing page.

Yes! We take a lot of care to test our patterns thoroughly with beginner sewists. We also offer free video tutorials for most of our patterns.

Each pattern is designed to be a mini-course on how assemble the pattern. Beginner sewists will learn new techniques from both the instruction booklet and accompanying video tutorial.

You can learn about how to measure yourself in the video on our sizing page.

Returns

No. Because all Madswick products are delivered digitally (PDF sewing patterns), all sales are final and we do not accept returns, exchanges, or cancellations once a file has been delivered.

Digital products cannot be returned the way physical goods can, and access cannot be revoked once delivered.

If you have trouble downloading or opening your files, contact us at hello@madswick.com and we will help you get access.

See our refund policy for more information.

Misc

Limited commercial use is allowed under certain conditions and with express permission from Madswick.

Our patterns may be used to create garments for sale in small quantities. We ask that a pattern be purchased for each garment sold and that the cost of the pattern be built into your pricing.

Commercial use permissions are handled on a case-by-case basis. If you’re interested or have questions, please email us at hello@madswick.com and we’re happy to discuss details.

Yes! We are lucky enough to work with some amazing companies. They offer some great discount codes to our customers through affiliate links. This means you get a nice discount, and we receive a small commission at no additional cost to you. When you shop through these links, it helps us keep doing what we are doing!

We are very careful about our recommendations and promise to only share things we believe are worth your money and time.

We are proud to have our patterns digitally stocked at:

We do not have our patterns stocked anywhere else. If you happen to see them sold anywhere else, or would like to stock our patterns, please let us know at hello@madswick.com

All of our patterns undergo rigorous testing by dozens of pattern testers in a wide size range.

Are you interested in becoming a pattern tester? Being a pattern tester means you get:

  • early access to the pattern
  • exclusive discounts
  • a finalized copy of the final pattern
  • one extra free pattern from MADSWICK

In order to become a pattern tester you will need to fill out an application for each individual pattern. Testing calls are sent out via email to newsletter subscribers and announced on Instagram. We do our best to create a diverse testing group of all skill levels, genders, sizes, and race. Please apply again if you aren't accepted the first time! I try to add new people each pattern test.
