The Camille Chemise is an adventurous beginner pattern designed for woven fabrics. The design is a modernized chemise style dress with a wide square neckline, sleeves, a roomy fit, and special details like box pleats and gathers around the bust, underarm, and sleeves. The sleeves have a puff sleeve detail that comes together into an Sleeve Band just above the elbow with 3 pleats and gathers.

Camille has the option to make a blouse version, or a dress version with hidden inseam pockets. This pattern doesn’t have any closures such as zippers or buttons, but is meant to comfortably be put on your body. The dress version has a midi/maxi length and has a billowy comfortable shape with a lot of ease around the bust, waist, and hips.

Using this pattern was a lot of fun! This was my first time using the method of printing at home on A4 paper. Your instructions and layout made it such a smooth process for me. All the instructions were clear and easy to track with. I tend to operate best when things explained very clearly in black and white and I had no issues carrying on through this pattern! Through this process, I learned a couple new things I hadn’t done before. The box pleats were my favorite! It was really enjoyable overall!

@loganmacksews

Truly am obsessed with this pattern! I’ve never been disappointed by a Madswick pattern and still am blown away by the attention to detail every time! So many pattern designers are making the same things and Madswick always is unique! I felt so intimidated by the pleats and it was actually so much easier than I thought!! Truly such a good pattern The neckline finish is chefs kiss! Not having to do bias binding is lovely and looks so clean

@Grayce.andersen

I found this pattern to be so fun to make! I loved that there were many techniques used (box pleats, yolks, gathers) but everything felt manageable and rewarding to sew. Don’t let those intimidate you, the instructions walk you through every step of the way❤️
