Raida is an Intermediate sewing pattern due to the many steps involved in making it. However, a patient beginner could make it! It includes techniques such as: gathering, pin-tucks, binding, buttons, buttonholes, attaching a collar, stitching in the ditch—and for view C—ruching.

  • This pattern requires between 3-7 yds of woven fabric depending on the size, length and view you choose. (see chart for details)
  • The Raida Dress pattern is designed for light to mid-weight woven fabrics. Choose a fabric (2 to 5 oz/yd) such as a linen, cotton lawn, cotton poplin, cotton sateen, lyocell, shirtings, viscose crepe, or viscose-linen-noil. Please note that heavier weighted fabrics will make view C more difficult to gather. This pattern is perfect for old bed sheets.
  • Interfacing: ¼ yard or meter of light weight interfacing for all sizes for button placket and/or collar. Note: your interfacing piece may need to be cut in two sections.
  • Buttons: View A (10-12 buttons)  1/2"(1.3cm) or smaller
  • Buttons: Views B & C (1 button)  any size

Model is 5'6"(1.67m) tall with a 36"(91.5cm) bust and is wearing a size 3

  • All fabrics used are a thrifted cotton
