3yds/mtrs of Double Sided Quilted Cotton + Capella Coat Pattern (pre-order)

When I started designing fabric, I had the idea to have some quilted together for the launch of the Capella Coat pattern. I was lucky enough to find a supplier in India that was able to bring my designs to life in organic cotton and cotton batting. This was so exciting for me as it is becoming harder to find pre-quilted fabrics that have a cotton batting/wadding. I hand drew these designs which are inspired by the Sunday dinners at my grandma's house. These two prints (Strawberries and Sugar & Hide and Seek) remind me of the whimsical moments of my childhood. 

This fabric has been pre-quilted in thin vertical stripes, and the entire process has been screen printed by hand. Expect imperfections and irregularities. It is apart of the charm of a truly hand printed piece! 

What is included?

Along with 3yds/mtrs of this pre-quilted fabric, this purchase also includes a pre-order for the Capella Coat PDF sewing pattern. After you purchase your fabric, it will be sent to your address, and then the pattern will automatically be emailed to you on December 15th.

This fabric is perfect for our Capella Coat Pattern (coming soon), quilted jackets, pants (like these block party pants), or bags (like the Amapola bag).

Composition

100% Organic Cotton fabric

100% Cotton wadding/batting

Size

Length: Each cut of fabric was cut by the manufacturer for ease of quilting at ~3.2yds/mtrs long. 

Width: Each cut is ~ 48"(117cm) - 50"(127cm) wide. (Quilted with 110cm fabric but some cuts are slightly narrower or wider due to the manufacturing process).

Weight: approx. 275gsm / 8.1 oz per square yard

Fabric Care
This fabric has been hand-dyed and should be handled with care. To help set the color and minimize dye bleeding:

• Serge or zig-zag edges of fabric before washing to prevent fraying in the wash

• Wash on a high-heat, quick cycle with a handful of salt.

• Do not leave the fabric wet in the machine drum.

• Dry promptly on a high-heat setting to help fix the dye.
  

• We recommend testing a small swatch first to ensure your washing machine settings and water conditions produce the desired result before laundering the full piece.

This fabric is sold by the 3.2yds/mtrs. Qt: 1 = 3.2yds/mts of fabric. 

A Note on Safety:
Our organic cotton fabrics are soft, natural, and lovely to sew—but they’re not treated with flame retardants or chemicals.

• Avoid using for sleepwear or bedding for babies and children.

• Keep fabric and finished items away from open flames (candles, heaters, stovetops).

• Always pre-wash and test for shrinkage or colorfastness before starting your project.

• Store fabric in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight to prevent fading.
